ARUBA

Get the low-down before you hit the ho-down at Lonely Planet's Destination Aruba
You'd expect rave reviews from the Aruba Tourism Authority but there's useful info tucked in amongst the superlatives.
The Aruba Bulletin Board is dynamic, informed and friendly.
Jerry and Lisa's Aruba Bound! is high on trip diary content and low on bells and whistles.
Visit Aruba does a good job dancing the difficult line between gushy and helpful.

BAHAMAS

Any Buccaneer'll tell'ya - Lonely Planet's Destination Bahamas is your first port on the web.
LANIC, at the University of Texas-Austin, has a useful collection of links.
The Bahamas Vacation Guide gives info on individual islands, sailing charters, and the week in weather.
The Bahamas On-Line is a bit cheesy but they've got some practical info and a detailed events calendar.
Travelers to the Abacos should drop in at the Abaco in the Bahamas site. It's a little jumbled and most of the links appear to be commercial, but they cover all the angles.
Looking to open an off-shore account? Try Bahamaweb, where their slogan says it all: "Sun, sea, sand and tax-free investing."

BARBADOS

Fuel up with some flying fish filets at Lonely Planet's Destination Barbados.
Fun Barbados offers a bewildering array of information on everything from sightseeing to slang. You can post messages on their bulletin board or send a virtual Bajan postcard.
Although billed as the 'Barbados Tourism Encyclopedia,' the Official Barbados Tourism Authority Site is confusing and less than aesthetically pleasing - but nuggets are there if you dig.
Once you get past the tourist brochure slickness, the Ins & Outs of Barbados has a lot of useful information on nearly everything from the island's weather to its wardrobe requirements.
Who won the Caribbean Song Contest? How do I find the Soca Webring? Who was the King of Calypso in 1963? Find out at the Bajan Calypso Barn.

BONAIRE

Your first dive has to be Lonely Planet's Destination Bonaire.
The Bonaire Tourism Corporation's Official Travel Guide will have you swimming, diving, cycling and speaking Papiamento and all before lunch.
InfoBonaire is big on current events and hooking the visitor up with local hotels, car rentals, and restaurants.

BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

It's all plain sailing at Lonely Planet's Destination British Virgin Islands.
Islands Online has ferry timetables but the rest is mostly listings and plugs.
The doormat at BVI Welcome is a bit scuffed but the listings inside are pretty useful.
The British Virgin Islands Home Page has a commercial emphasis but there's quite a bit of handy info hidden away in here.

CAYMAN ISLANDS

Don't mean to blow our own conch, but your top stop is Lonely Planet's Destination Cayman Islands.
Cayman, Here We Come is Vicki and Tom Gimpel's tale of their snorkeling, socialising and slingin' 'em back holiday on Grand Cayman.
The Caribbean Supersite has some, well, super info on the Caymans.

Tips for Travelers to the Caribbean, put out by the US State Dept, has surprisingly useful particulars on every island in the sea.
The Caribbean New Agency, CANA, is the first place to look for hard, fast news effecting the English-speaking Caribbean.

GRENADA

Sail into Lonely Planet's Destination Grenada.
It's a bit slick and you have to remember that it's the official line, but Grenada's Official Travel Guide has lots of info, including where to indulge in some ecotourism and how to plan your wedding and honeymoon on the island.
It's cheesy and over the top, but the Grenada Explorer actually has some interesting corners, like a free newsletter and diveshop listings.

GUADELOUPE

Don't get caught out of the loop: visit Lonely Planet's Destination Guadeloupe.
The Caribbean Super Site's Guadeloupe provides a nice, safe, clean look at it all.
Get civilized by peering into Guadeloupe: The Civilized Island, an electronic love letter to the island, offering lots of general information and amateur photos.
The Tourist Board of Basse-Terre has decent tourism schlock presented in a series of smiley mouths, written in English and French.
Twist your tongue at the Ethnologue Database, which explains some of the differences between French and Creole.

JAMAICA

The Netherlands Antilles On-Line, the official government site, has facts and figures on Saba (some of it only in Dutch) and loads of links.
The Saba Tourist Bureau covers all aspects of traveling on the island, though it's understandably a bit biased.
Though it's mainly a commercial site for a guesthouse, the Gate House has lots of info on the island, including hikes, dives and other activities.

SINT EUSTATIUS

Before you hit the beach, hit Lonely Planet's Destination Sint Eustatius.
Statia's official Tourist Office site gives the island the puff treatment but you'll find some useful info there.

SINT MAARTEN

Lonely Planet's Destination Sint Maarten is your first stop for the straight dope.
Find out about everything from a recipe for Callaloo Soup to how to book a wedding package at the Sint Maarten Tourist Office site.
Sint Maarten-St Martin covers both halves of the island. It's slick and it functions mainly as a tourist brochure, but there's some useful info.
There's a list of Sint Maarten links at the Netherlands Antilles' official site.
The Sint Maarten Travel Guide has reservation forms for deep sea fishing, horseback riding and other activities.

ST VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES
