Welcome to "Dave's
Radio Receiver Page". Here is my little spot on
this earth to pass along my experiences and or comments about "Radio
Receivers", as well as other gizmos that I use in my
radio monitoring / recording ventures. My main focus is in the
"Shortwave" part of the radio spectrum. A few other
radio related items have been thrown in too , including amateur
radio equipment reviews and views that may not be directly
I have been playing around with radio receivers for over 40
years now, and in this time span my fingers have run across many
models, some really good and some really bad. Most comments you
read here have been pulled from my own head, but from others as
well (as noted). All observations from me are being made with the
2 ear / 2 eye method, so no fancy test equipment here. These of
course are my views and your findings may well be different.
Any set being listed on these pages does not mean that I own it
or plan on owning.
I'm sorry if any part of this site seems to have a "Soap Box"
slant to it , but I tell it like it is with my "hard - hitting"
unbiased hands on reports. To the dismay of
some readers, our reviews also contain comments / views and links from
other owners / reviews and information sources. We have been doing it
this way since 1998 and are NOT going to change our charter to be
skewed by other forces.

**** FUND DRIVE 2021 ****
Do you enjoy "Dave's Radio Receiver Page" ?
2021 marks our 23rd year on the Internet with “hard-hitting - tell it like it is” hands
on reviews regarding SW/HF and VHF/UHF radio receivers and accessories
and even an amateur transceiver once in awhile (usually as a SWL set,
except handheld radios). As we do with the New Year, a reader "fund
drive" period to at least to help cover costs of this web page
(including just a little something for my time) and hopefully acquire
test samples for review in 2021. This will be from “January 01 to February 28, 2021”.
If you appreciate what I do here, a donation of a few US dollars would be fantastic. Doesn't have to be much to help us greatly, even just a "single" US dollar or two sent in a envelope (mail). Please see below on how to do this. If
you need my US mailing address, please just email me (just put "mailing
address" in subject line...this is no problem at all , also my QRZ mailing address is valid as well). Paypal works too , here of course it does not have to be in US dollars.
We have "ZERO dollars" budget
for this web page these days so we must now count on loyal reader
support to help either with postpaid-test sample donations (even
a older classic solid state receiver / HF ham transceiver) or a few
dollars to help with the purchase of test samples. Again we also need
some $ help for us to just be here and just a bit for my time, We do
indeed thank you fantastic readers who have helped us greatly to
carry on here, it is very much appreciated. *** Thank You.....Dave N9EWO ***
|** Web Page Donations between January 01 and February 28, 2021 **|
| * TOTAL "US DOLLAR" DONATION AMOUNT as of JANUARY 22, 2021 : $ 78.00|
* DIRECT SAMPLE DONATIONS as of JANUARY 22, 2021 : None

must "manually" type it out. ****
**** Do you enjoy "Dave's Radio Receiver Page" ? **** "Thank You" for being a regular visitor
to this web page. ****
ANY donation amount is very much appreciated to help keep "Dave's Radio
Receiver Page" here on the internet and updated.I hope that we still
provide totally unbiased equipment information for
the radio listening hobby that you do not see anywhere else.
A number of
ways you can make a donation to me :
Send whatever amount you wish direct in US Dollars (US
postal money order, check via
a US bank, cash in US Dollars) to my current "Amateur Radio" mailing address (QRZ data is good) (Amateur Radio Call : N9EWO) or please
just contact me at the
above email contact for my US mailing address. "Bank to Bank"
transfers are not available. Even a $ 1. or $ 2. US
Dollar CASH donation sent via postal mail directly to me is very much
* Send a donation
in US dollars as they do
any conversion). For
"Pay-Pal " donations (click here, I'm located in the USA) .
use my email address as listed above. Please Note : You will see the
as "Terrence H." , he receives the "Pay-Pal" donations for me.
* Donations of old working (or at least easily
repairable) "solid state" radio receivers or amateur transceivers of at
least some worth. No basket cases / floor sweepings or general junk please. A
huge plus if it's a SW/HF-receiver/transceiver that I can possibility review here,
but this is not a requirement. Please contact me in advance before you
anything to me (a
few pictures would be great). Any donated radio would have to be
sent postpaid to me. No tube / valve type equipment please. New receiver test sample donations are also welcomed.
you wish to remain anonymous (and I never use last names in any event),
please be sure to tell me. "THANK YOU"
to all who
have helped to keep this web page here / updated and for new content. A special thanks to
those who have donated test
Sorry, I no longer write reviews with test samples on a "loaner" basis
(I require proper compensation for my time / hard work doing reviews
with radios I "normally" care not to actually own/purchase). PLEASE
NOTE : IF we totally disappear here for whatever reason, we will move
the web page back to the previous Angelfire webhost. Dave N9EWO
