Log #5 August 31st, 2001
Back in Miami. As some of you know, I recently went back to the
Washington, D.C. area where I use to live. I had unfinished business
there.
I flew back on Saturday August 25th and stayed untill the 30th.
Saturday started with my flight from Miami Int'l Airport to Washington-
Regan National Airport. After arriving, and once again seeing
Washington,
D.C.'s unique skyline I headed for Gaithersburg. My parents and I enjoyed
dinner at the local steak house, and shortly after I headed downtown to
Adams Morgan with some new friends and we had a blast into the early
morning. I sleep in a bit the next day, not doing much. I visited
a few other
friends that week as well as visiting the gang at my old job. Thursday
came
came to quickly, and I was off to Miami again. I hope my friends will
be
able to visit me in Miami in the near future (hint, hint). Anyhow,
that's about
it for the trip.
On the work front, my new job in construction continues to go well. I'm
enjoying the work and it's rather tough. Luckily we've been inside
with air
conditioning. I'm not looking forward to the next job, which I believe
is
going to be outside. Oh well, at least it's earning me money, and
experience.
I also should clarify why I'm working construction. I haven't switched
from
Architecture, but working construction gives me a first hand experience
with
the things I'll be designing in the future. I also learn appreciation
for the
contractors which I will have to work with on my designs when I'm an
architect. I don't know exactly how long I'll work in construction,
but I hope
it will last at least six months.
This weekend I'm headed up to Deland to my Brother's mom's house there.
a large group of the family is going up for the Holiday and I'm sure it will
be
tons of fun. I'll will have pictures to share too. Hope everyone
of you has
a fun and enjoyous holiday too.
