Log #6 September 5th, 2001
Things are moving ahead quite well these days. This update will have
a few
things unique, and hopefully this will be shorter than most.
I traveled this last weekend to Deland, Florida and to Jacksonville with
my
sister Liz and her husband Jack. Being the Labor Day Holiday gave
enough
time for some of the family to get together. Saturday morning was departure
and that afternoon we arrived in Deland. The next day Liz, Jack and
I drove
to Jacksonville and the University of North Florida picked-up Kanani (my
niece) and returned to Deland. My brothers Cabot and Kyle were there with
their wives, sons, and daughters. I was lots of fun and I look forward
to the
next visit.
On the work front, my new job in construction continues to go well. I'm
enjoying the work and it's rather tough. Luckily we've been inside
with air
conditioning. I'm looking forward to the next job, which I believe
is a house
addition located on a canal in one of the nicer areas of Miami. I'll
have to
wait and see what's in store, though being outside, I'm sure to burn a new
tan.
I also should clarify why I'm working construction. I haven't switched
from
Architecture, but working construction gives me a first-hand experience
with
the things I'll be designing in the future. I also learn appreciation
for the
contractors which I will have to work with on my designs when I'm an
Architect. I don't know exactly how long I'll work in construction,
but I hope
it will last a few more months.
Enjoy the pictures below, but don't forget to go to the pictures page for
more
pictures. The next update shouldn't come before to long, as I looking
to
increase my social activities.
