Randy, K7RHT, provided this article, called Zen and the Art of Radiotelegraphy, written by Carlo Consoli, IK0YGJ. It goes into the history of the decline of use in Morse code, but also goes into how to build your skills. Despite not being required in order to pass your license exam, there are a large number of CW devotees.
If you are looking to brush up your CW skills, or to learn CW for the first time, give this article a read. The author sets the stage on how to learn, and how to apply those learning skills to CW. He then walks you through lessons and practice. Zen and the Art of Radiotelegraphy
