As of December 2, 2023: The Kittitas County Amateur Radio Communication Service (KCARCS) was renamed the Kittitas County Amateur Radio Club (KCARC) to more accurate show a broader interest in the overall ham radio hobby. As we develop the changes to KCARC, we will be posting the information here, and elsewhere on the site.
The KCARC Constitution and By-laws are available on the website from the About tab in the menu.
The N7KGS callsign that is the KCARC main callsign was originally assigned to Larry Brown of Ellensburg. A long time Amateur Radio Operator, Larry was the former President of the Rodeo City Radio Club located in Ellensburg. Larry also helped to start the Kittitas County Search and Resuce group, and helped many in the area to learn about and become involved with Amateur Radio. He also helped to organize coverage for the Rodeo parade and the Whiskey Dick Triathalon, among many events. His callsign was obtained for trusteeship originally by the Rodeo City Radio Club, and we are grateful for his contributions both to the community, and to Amateur Radio.
