Collins 30S-1 RF Amplifier
The Collins 30S-1 is a single tube, (Eimac 4CX1000A) grounded grid, linear amplifier. RF inverse feedback is used for better linearity. The amplifier requires 70 to 100 watts excitation. Nominal output is an average 1000w SSB and CW. All controls are easily accessible on the front panel. The amplifier covers the 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meter bands. Other frequencies from 3.5 to 5 and 6.5 to 30 Mhz are possible by retuning the input coils.
The unit can be powered from 115/230 VAC 50-60 Hz single phase, 3-wire neutral ground, 2000 watts max. SIZE: approx. 17 x 31 x 17 inches and a whopping 160 lbs.
This amplifier was donated to QCWA Chapter 85 and sold at auction to raise money for scholarships.
