System Overview

BeachNet is a mostly linked network of open Amateur radio repeaters covering nearly 9000 square miles in the lower-left corner of coastal Washington State. A transmission over any of our repeaters is heard on all linked stations in the network, blanketing the southern coastal counties, an impossible task from any one site. BeachNet works closely with local Emergency Management Agencies to provide disaster communication support in the public interest. For operational Do's and Don'ts see our Operational Policies. For general system technical information click on the menu buttons on the left. For a detailed discussion of any specific repeater click on its frequency at the top or bottom of any page, or its name or location on the Coverage Map page. For a complete listing of all our informative web pages, see our Site-Map page. Most importantly, key up and use our system. Get to know the other users and where our system works (and doesn't work). The best way to be prepared for an emergency is to be familiar with the people and infrastructure that comprise BeachNet.
