One of the fun projects that I participated in was building a rugged 2KW Linear Amp for RTTY and other uses. The station already had a National NCL-2000 which was a great little amp, so the homebrew amp became known as the NCG-2000. It was made up of two 19 inch rack mount panels/chassis, the RF deck and the power supply, and was mounted in a roll-around cabinet. The amplifier consisted of a pair of 4-400As in grounded grid. We scoured the surplus stores in San Francisco for the parts.
