PROGRAM THRUSTS

MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

C.I.R.C.L.E. 5 is an institution of learning. We provide our members the necessary seminars and trainings not only to enhance their chosen hobby - hamradio - but also to develop their communication skills. One of the most effective learning process that we adapt is the sharing of technical knowledge among the members and the promotion of group technical experimentation.

As an organization founded on the principles of Alpha Phi Omega, C.I.R.C.L.E. 5 promotes a unique program of fellowship among its Members - both APO and non-APO alike - not only during fellowship gatherings but also during club service activities. (For particulars, please see "Updates" and "Foto Gallery".)

EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION

It is every ham's dream to save a life with the use of his equipment. Thus, one of the major service thrusts of C.I.R.C.L.E. 5 is emergency communication. We use all the resources available to us - VHF/HF radio, telephone, fax, cell phone, and recently the Internet - to provide communication assistance especially in times of fire, typhoons, floods, disasters and other emergency situation. On several occasions our members are the first to arrive at the emergency site to relay important information and traffic to concerned agencies, groups and individuals.

TECHNICAL EXPERIMENTATION

Although the club is actively involved in technical experimentation, not all members are gifted with this skill and ability. Therefore, members with this skill are grouped into a special committee called "Technical Services Committee" who help other members develop this skill. The Filipino tradition of "Bayanahin" or helping one another is a never ending facet of club activity.

ALPHA PHI OMEGA PROGRAMS

As an alumni association of the Alpha Phi Omega, the club is actively involved in various service activities in the community and cooperates with the service programs of the National Service Fraternity and Sorority.
