CARRYING CASES The Collins Company produced a range of carrying cases for their equipment. Illustrated here is a CC-2 case designed to take a 30L-1 amplifier or a KWM-2 with a PM-2 lightweight portable AC power supply attached. The PM-2 attaches to the rear of the transceiver and also contains a loudspeaker. Thus the case shown here contains an almost complete portable station. How things change - I can just lift it off the ground!
MICROPHONES Collins naturally sold microphones, after all, the "S" stood for sideband. Shown on the left is the SM-2 and on the right the MM-1 both made by Turner for Collins. In the centre is a Turner 9E/L model used as an alternative. This is surprisingly heavy and feels just like a hand grenade - I know!
