For sale in Honolulu: Home brew cubicle quad antenna and tower
KH6EV has put up for sale his home built, tri-band HF cubicle quad antenna and tower. Below are photo close ups of the assembly.
Please contact his family if you're interested.
KH6EV
KH6EV was an electrical engineer with the military, designing many radio systems in the Pacific.
In the 1980's, he built a tri-band cubicle quad HF antenna, along with a fold-down tower, and erected it in the space right behind his garage.
There are two nearly identical cubicle quads for front to back gain. Each spreader supports loops for 10, 15 and 20 meter radio bands. The quads are supported by a central boom. |

This is a detail of one of the spreaders, and the three bands of quads mounted on it. |

The tower is a home designed fold-over tower. You can see the pivot for the fold-over section in this photo. At the top is an antenna rotator and a top mast to connect to the central boom of the quad antenna. |

The folded section is winched into position by a hand-driven winch. When winched, the top tower element is approximately 50 feet high. |
