Marathon Challenge 2026

The VEFF Marathon Challenge is a year-long operating event wherein we will recognize the achievers who work, or activate, the most VEFF references during the calendar year and is designed to promote WWFF activity worldwide. The VEFF Marathon Challenge wants to continuously draw attention to the importance of protecting nature, flora & fauna, and to encourage hams to 'Make Nature Your Shack'.

GENERAL RULES
Operators are required to follow rules of their countries, within restrictions of their licenses, and to follow the rules set forth by WWFF and its national organizations. The eligible references are those VEFF References listed in the WWFF Directory.

ACTIVITY PERIOD
The VEFF Marathon is a year-long activity for a calendar year, January 1, 0000 UTC through December 31, 2359 UTC.

CATEGORIES
Top North American Hunters, Top DX Hunters, and Top Activators VALID QSOs: VEFF Marathon credit will be given for VEFF Activators and for Hunters throughout the World making QSOs with each other based on the entry of the Activator logs into Logsearch.

ELIGIBILITY
The VEFF Marathon Challenge is open to all Activators and Hunters worldwide that work, or activate, VEFF References.

BANDS/MODES
All amateur bands and modes are permitted.

LOGS
All VEFF Activators are expected to submit their logs to their assigned person for upload to the WWFF system. Credit for all Hunters and Activators will accrue as normal.

AWARDS
Year-end awards or outstanding recognition will be issued to the #1, Top 5, and Top 10 within the three categories (NA Hunter, DX Hunter, Activator).
