Important Notice !: World Wide Flora & Fauna (WWFF), including VEFF, references listed in the WWFF Directory do have a "Valid From/To:" date. Make sure
you double check the "Valid From/To:" date for all references in your log before submitting the log for uploading. The "Valid From" date is the date that the
reference was added to the Directory. Submitting old POTA logs might contain references that were not listed at the date/time of the log and will not be valid.
Note: If you have prepared and uploaded POTA logs, ADIF logs for WWFF are identical in nature except for the name change in a couple of .adi tags (or fields).
Log format for submission to WWFF?
Must be a .ADI formatted log as shown in these examples -

Log File Name (example)
CALL@VEFF-1234 20210731 (yr/mo/day)
CALL@VEFF-1234-20210731 (yr/mo/day)
Where CALL is the callsign used on-air @ WWFF Reference, then leave one space (or use - after WWFF Ref) then the Date of the first QSO in your log.
When finished the log file name will look like: VE3ABC@VEFF-1234 20250813.adi
Other Important Fields
STATION_CALLSIGN = YOUR CALL USED ON-AIR
CALL = STATION WORKED
OPERATOR = CALLSIGN OF THE OPERATOR
BAND = BAND USED (ie: 40m) - Do not use FREQ 7.090, etc.
MODE = MODE USED (ie: CW SSB FT8)
QSO_DATE = DATE OF THE ACTIVITY
TIME_ON = TIME OF THE CONTACT
IMPORTANT!!! - WWFF Logsearch upload needs:
[MY_SIG:4] WWFF
[MY_SIG_INFO:9] VEFF-1234 (must be a 4 digit reference number ie: VEFF-0001
* This is the park reference you are activating.
For Park To Park activity you must add the following to the above information:
[SIG:4] WWFF
[SIG_INFO:8] KFF-1234
* This is the park reference you are working.
* QSO Date, Band, Mode, Time are equally important. RST reports are usually ignored by the WWFF logsearch upload.
* Activator logs must be submitted following the activation to be counted as valid.
* Hunters do not submit logs to the program. Only activators do. Hunters earn credit through the activator's logs.
* There are no time limits for log submission.
* Courteous operators upload their logs without excessive delay, as hunters depend on the activator's log for credit/awards.
For creating the log, you can use logging software like Ham2K Portable Logger (PoLo), HAMRS, AC Log, or manually create a ADIF file using a simple text editor
such as ms notepad. All .adif logs can be opened, edited and saved using your favorite text editor.
Providing Activator logs
* For the accreditation of a WWFF area as an Activator, you are required to submit an electronic log (ADIF file or CSV template) of all QSOs made.
* Only ADIF or the CSV template will be accepted. Other forms of log, e.g. handwritten, typed, spreadsheets are not acceptable.
* It is not the role of the National coordinators to convert logs into ADIF or CSV. This is the responsibility of the activator.
ADIF files
* The log may be submitted in ADIF format (Amateur Data Interchange Format). ADIF is an open standard for exchange of data between ham radio software
packages available from different vendors. Information on ADIF files can be found on their website here.
CSV files
* The log may also be submitted in CSV file format (comma separated value). A CSV file allows data to be saved in a table structured format. CSV's look like a
standard spreadsheet but with a .csv extension. They traditionally take the form of a text file containing information separated by commas, hence the name.
CSV file template
* The template is available from the WWFF website. You can also download a copy of it here (.xlsx file).
* Instructions for the use of the template can be found on the template itself. The operator column should be completed if the operator call is different to the station
call used for the activation. An example of this is if you use a club call sign. Place the club call sign in the 'station Call' column and your own personal call in the
'operator Call' column.
Checking of logs for accuracy
* Please check your log for any potential errors prior to submitting it to the National coordinator. Simple errors such as wrong reference area quoted, incomplete or
inaccurate call signs, or logs not in the appropriate format, simply means delay in uploading the files and additional work for both the National coordinator and
the park activator concerned.
* Note that apart from technical errors that limit the upload of a log, the submission of a log is final. This means that WWFF will not edit any data after submission.
Accurate logging is therefore important if you want all your chasers to get their deserved credits.
* Important Notice: It is important for everyone to check the WWFF Directory for the 'valid from' date of VEFF references showing in your logs. The park reference
only becomes valid when it is added into the WWFF Directory. Do not add park-to-park references in your logs until you check the WWFF Directory and make sure
that park is valid for the date of your log. Going back for log data from an old POTA log can be dangerous as that VEFF reference might not have been added to
the VEFF (WWFF Directory) list yet and will not be valid.
Log submission
Only logs that have been properly formated for WWFF and have been checked for errors can be submitted by email attachment and sent to the VEFF Log Manager
(Len, VE9MY) who will upload the log for you. Note that the log manager WILL NOT correct any errors in the log. If there are any errors in your log, Len will send
the log back to you for correction and will advise you on what needs to be corrected.
POTA logs that you are having difficulty with or need conversion from POTA to WWFF format will be accepted and can be submitted by email attachment and sent
to the VEFF National Coordinator. Your log will be inspected, corrections made, POTA references cross referenced to WWFF references. Log uploaded to WWFF.
You will be contacted by the VEFF national coordinator detailing all changes made to your log for uploading so you can make the corrections in the future yourself.
It is actually quite simple to do, if you take a bit of time to learn. It's not my job to correct logs but I will help anyone who is willing to learn how to do it themselves.
What if 44 QSOs are not attained?
* As an activator, even if you do not attain the required 44 contacts during an activation, please still submit your log for upload. Despite the fact that you have
not reached the 44 QSOs, your activation will still count for those hunters that worked you, and for your future activation of the same park.
