RAST organised a New Year celebration for 2014.
22 January RAST received permission from the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) to test D-STAR digital mode transmissions in the amateur radio bands.
14 March RAST was invited to attend a the third APG preparatory meeting with the ICT Ministry for the World Radio Conference in 2015.
22 March RAST organised a US FCC examination at the Chao Phya Park Hotel in Bangkok.
24-26 March RAST, represented by E27HLN, E27YJ, HS3ZDB and HS2TEI, had a booth in the National EMS Forum & Expo 2014 at BITEC Bang Na that was organised by the National Institute for Emergency Medicine (Sor Por Chor).
30 March RAST held its 2013 Annual General Meeting at the Sena Place Hotel on Phalyothin Soi 11.

RAST's QSL Manager reported that there had been 22,054 incoming QSL cards weighing 66.162 Kg to the Thailand QSL Bureau and 12,154 outgoing cards weighing 36.462 Kg.
20 April RAST organised a US FCC examination at Songkhla Nakarin University in Hat Yai, Songkhla.
24 April RAST sent a representative to participate in the 2014 ASEAN Humanitarian and Disaster Relief Exercise (AHEX 14) in Chachoengsao Province. The activity took place from April 24 to May 2 in and around Chachoengsao province to the east of Bangkok.
4 May


A new President and officers for RAST were elected for a two-year term (2014- 2016), with Dr Jakkree Hantongkom (Jack), HS1FVL as President (the election had been deferred because the political situation had not been normal). A full list of RAST officers can be found here.

19 May RAST, represented by Jakkree, HS1FVL and Pornchai (Joe), HS2JFW, participated in a meeting (No. 3/2557) of the NBTC's sub-committee to review the frequency allocations at the NBTC Secretariat.
23 May RAST participated in a meeting to review new licensing proposals and the draft amateur radio regulations drawn up by the Secretariat of the NBTC at the Rama Gardens Hotel.
29 May RAST, represented by Jakkree, HS1FVL and Pornchai, HS2JFW, explained the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed changes in the national frequency assignment for the six metre band (50-54 MHz) at the Office of the NBTC.
1 June RAST's request for a budget from the NBTC Secretariat for the project to build and launch a Thai amateur radio satellite JAISAT was endorsed by the TAMSAT group.
6 June RAST, represented by Ray, E23PKO and his team, began creating pile-ups by using the callsigns HS0AC and HS50RAST every Friday until December 31, 2014.
12 June RAST received a licence to use the special callsign HS50RAST from the NBTC Secretariat to celebrate RAST's 50th anniversary until December 31, 2014.

New antennas were installed at the HS0AC club station in a joint effort with some 70 RAST members participating. Some of the efforts that were carried out following the election of Jakkree as President of RAST are documented here.



21 June RAST organised a US FCC examination in Chiang Mai.
25 June The President of RAST was appointed to the sub-committee to develop amateur radio activities and for public frequencies according to the NBTC 6/2557, clause 5.2.1 (Page 11).

RAST hosted a booth in the Friedrichshafen Ham Fair in Germany, being represented there by Benjamas, HS6SSE, Ralf, HS0ZET/DF6RK, Amnat, HS1IWX, Supanee, E22FQO and Gerd, HS0ZKF.

Another antenna was installed at the HS0AC club station at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and other outstanding work on the club station was finalised.
30 June RAST sent a representative as a volunteer to participate in training in the event of a disaster at the Amarin Lagoon Hotel in Phitsanulok Province.
27 July RAST organised a US FCC examination at Maha Sarakham University in Maha Sarakham Province.
12-13 July RAST used the special callsign HS50RAST in the 2014 IARU HF Championship from the HS0AC club station.
19-20 July RAST sought and received special permission for Thai radio amateurs to use the 6-metre band (50 MHz) during the 2014 CQWW VHF Contest.
3 August


The HS0AC club station on the campus of AIT was formally opened with an "Open House" day and where the monthly meeting for August was held.


3 August RAST organised a US FCC examination at the HS0AC club station at AIT.
4 August On the occasion of National Communications Day RAST, represented by Jakkree, HS1FVL, Wanlop, HS6MYW and Ray, E23PKO, presented a portrait of King Rama 5 to the NBTC in a ceremony at the NBTC Secretariat.
11 August RAST organised a net for members to convey their wishes for Her Majesty the Queen on the eve of her birthday on August 12.
22 August RAST joined in a meeting which it presided over to listen to views regarding the amateur radio regulations at the Maruay Garden Hotel in Bangkok organised by Mr Prasert Apipunya, a member of the NBTC's "superboard".

RAST, represented by Joe, HS2JFW, Jakkree, HS1FVL, Sakol, HS1JNB, Mike, E29BUQ, Choon, E20HHK, Nikorn, HS5NMF, Wanlop, HS6MYW, Sathitpong, E21SNN, Chaovalit, E20KEW, Champ, E21EIC, Tanan, HS1JAN and other members along with the NBTC gave lectures about operating in the 10 metre band (28 MHz) at Maruay Gadren Hotel.

RAST participated in the JARL Ham Fair 2014 in Tokyo, Japan represented by Panit, HS1AAZ, Wara, E21AOY, Champ, E21EIC, Jaycee, E20NKB, Noppadol, HS5IGY and Joe, HS5JRH.
25 August


RAST, represented by Champ, E21EIC, Jaycee, E20NKB, Noppadol, HS5IGY, visited the national amateur radio society of Japan, the Japan Amateur Radio League (JARL).
6 September The President of RAST welcomed students from Bangkok University who visited the club station HS0AC during the 2014 All Asian SSB Contest.
6-7 September RAST used the special callsign HS50RAST in the All Asian SSB Contest 2014 from the club station HS0AC.
13 September RAST, through the TAMSAT group, welcomed Mr Hoz Ueda of JAMSAT in Japan who was here to find out about the Thai JAISAT satellite project.
21 September RAST organised a US FCC examination at Songkhla Nakarin University in Hat Yai, Songkhla.
8 October RAST listened to and explained the use of the 430-440 MHz UHF amateur radio band with the Secretariat of the NBTC.
10 October RAST represented by Jakkree, HS1FVL, Champ, E21EIC, Jaycee, E20NKB, Noppadol, HS1IGY, Surachart E20QVD and Nukool, HS7BHK together with Malaysian amateur radio operators organised a US FCC exam in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and held discussions with the Malaysian Amateur Radio Transmitting Society (MARTS) about a reciprocal agreement between the two countries.
25-26 October RAST used the callsign HS50RAST during the CQWW SSB contest from the HS0AC club station.
8-9 November RAST sent Ray, HS4RAY as a speaker and to demonstrate use of the 10 metre band during the ARDF championships for the Princess Sirindhorn trophy in Surin province organised by HS3AS.
9 November RAST began offering Morse Code training practice to prepare candidates for an Intermediate Class examination with Weerawat, HS7JJY using Echolonk at 20.15 and Somsak, E20UPZ using the two metre frequency of 144.9375 on a daily basis.

RAST President, committee members and members attended the 2014 SEANET Convention in Bali with Jakkree, HS1FVL, Champ, E21EIC, Jaycee, E20NKB, Fred, HS0ZAR, Rolf, HS0ZEA, Manfred, HS0ZEU, Supaporn, HS7ZVC, Hans-Juerg, HS0ZBT, Bruce, HS0ZLB and Hans, HS0ZFU travelling to the Convention there which was organised by ORARI.


15 November Seanet delegates voted in favour of Thailand to host the 44th Seanet Convention in Pattaya in 2016.
29-30 Nobember RAST used the special callsign HS50RAST during the CQWW CW contest from the HS0AC club station.
4 December RAST conducted a net, providing an opportunity for radio amateurs to offer their good wishes to His Majesty the King, HS1A on the eve of his birthday on December 5.

RAST joined in celebrating Amateur Radio Day at the Secretariat of the NBTC.
13 December RAST, represented by Ray, E23PKO, made a video presentation about various modes of communications used in amateur radio.
13 December RAST organised a US FCC examination at the Secretariat of the NBTC on the occasion of Amateur Radio Day.
13-14 December RAST Used the callsign HS50RAST during the ARRL 10-metre contest from the HS0AC club station.
18 December


RAST, represented by Chaiyong, HS1QVD, made merit on the occasion of the birthday of Ray, HS0ZDZ/G3NOM at his house at the Phardhana Country Home village in Rangsit, Klong 6, Pathum Thani.
21 December RAST and the TAMSAT Group took part in the MS-BAT 4 amateur radio ballooning activity conducted at the Nonthaburi Wittayalai School.
31 December During 2014 members who became silent keys included Rana, HS0ZBK/WB4NFO, Prayong, HS4BPQ, John, HS0ZAA/W2ZWW and Guenter, HS0ZFF/DK1KM.
