This is my workbench. Although factory made desks are better, I decided to build mine myself. I used 3 doors from an old wardrobe, 2 for the base and 1 for the shelf.

It stands on 5 metal legs (1 in the middle back part) I got from IKEA. Top shelf, left to right.

1) GN4 AF generator (Analitik Plant, Bulgarian, transistor unit, very good), DIY measurement combo - squarewave generator (5Hz-180kHZ), LC Meter and a Frequency counter (50MHz), dual 12V@12A PSU using two ATX PC isolated PSU boards, allowing me to get 24V for stuff like Class E amps.

2) GR2 HF generator (Analitik Plant, Bulgarian, tube, oldie but goodie), Statron TYP3205 dual lab power supply, Philips PM3266 100MHz dual channel memory scope, Bulgarian (Electronica Plant, Sofia, 1963) 2 channel stabilized lab tube power supply, very stable!

Bottom row:

1) The unit at the bottom is a 2x50W Class D amp boxed with a chinese FM module. There is an AUX input for the PC.

2) A CXG E60WT Led-Free soldering iron (Check them out!!! http://www.cxg.cn/en/productshow1348.html They go up to 400C).

3) UNI-T UT52 multimeter, KYORITSU KEW1011 multimeter.

4) Left yellow storage box - top variable resistors, capacitors, trimmers, coils, middle and bottom - hand tools.

5) Right yellow storage box - top connectors, sockets, etc., middle and bottom - hand tools.

6) On the HF rig PS I have stacked a Fox-Delta AAZ-0914A 50MHZ USB Antenna Analyzer and a russian GIR-2 Grid-Dip Meter.

7) SPARKY BUR150 variable speed drill on a Polish-made drill stand i bought from TME.

I have a 80W soldering iron, solder pump and a propane soldering iron and lots more stuff...

On shelves i have my component magazine - capacitors, resistors, nuts, bolts, screws, washers and a metal/plastic mix drawers, chemichals, materials storage. The drawer system is Bulgarian, very high-quality rugged plastic.

To the right i keep materials, tubes, chemichals, project boxes, a honeycomb coil winding jig and some piles of got-to-complete-stuff...

Under the desk I have three storage containers, also an IKEA bargain. They look flimsy, but you will be amased how heavily loaded they are. I store microcontroller stuff, all kinds of small deices, aluminium radiators and wall-warts.

Wiring, ferrite and iron powder materials, pcb material, plastics etc. in the right one. The white boxes on top hold all my semiconductors.

And yes, the big metal thing under the desk is a russian military HF receiver R250M!

Let's take a closer look at the combo. The measurement unit is made of 3 kits.

The generator - http://www.elimex.bg/product/38459/kit-k031h-generator-za-pravoagalni-impulsi.html

The LC meter - http://www.ebay.com/itm/LC-meter-Inductance-Capacitance-High-Precision-Meter-usd-cable-dc-5v-/290908894645

The frequency counter - http://www.dobrikit.dir.bg/page24.htm

I also have a separate workbench on the balcony for drilling, sawing, etc. noisier/dirtier/smellier jobs. It's imperative, especially with the baby around.
