 I got  question via e-mail about this table and how to use it in real world, so I give you a small explanation. You will find below a table including the most used iron powder toroidal cores with the sizes, AL value, and frequency range of use. All value have to be taken with +-5% The formula to calculate the the inductance is : uH=(AL*Turns2)/1000 I.e : if you use a T200-2 and makes 20 turns you will get (with the 12 AL value from the T200-2 found in table) an inductance of 4.8 uH. If you add a 105 pF capacitor in parallele you will got a nice 7.1 MHz resonant circuit for that frequency. This could be then the secondary winding of an impedance transformer. Add a 3 turns winding as primary then about 21.12 meters of wire and you just built your first half wave endfed 40 meters antenna (see schematic below and visit AA5TB page for more info, more on that later in the rigs and ants page
