W7ZOI/K7TAU Spectrum Analyzer - Tracking Generator

I found the Tracking Generator a bit challenging to get working. No matter what I did, I couldn't get the LO to oscillate. Finally, in frustration, I obtained another kit from Kanga. Well, I had the same problem. No LO from the LO. Big bummer.

Well, it turned out to be the coil, L1. What finally got it working for me was to see a photo of someone else's TG (a somewhat out of focus photo, but a photo none-the-less), which helped me getting oscillation going. The story continues on the first photo...
