There are various methods to assess the current HF propagation conditions:

  1. Listen to the HF bands using your own rig, WebSDR or KiwiSDR.
  2. Watch regional MUF maps and global charts.
  3. Track the actual band activity using DX clusters and/or
  4. Use tools and applications to estimate the current ionospheric conditions based on data collected from recent solar activity, space weather reports, and remote sensing of the ionosphere's regions. Examples:

    Regional Maps
  1. Current Ham Activity (160-6m)
    DXview
  2. Current MUF Conditions
    MUF 3000km
  3. Current LUF Conditions
