  The goal of this site is to help enhance  Amateur Radio in NY, NJ, PA, and CT. Although I am interested in and participate in many aspects of the hobby, my main interest falls in the area of Amateur Radio Public Service and Emergency Communications. I will try to keep a comprehensive list of upcoming  Public Service events, provide links to local clubs, and share any interesting "Emcomm" information that happens to cross my desk.    Amateur Radio & Road Rally

2004 brought two new and exciting Public Service & Emergency Communications training opportunities for "Hams" in the tri-state area. The SCARS (Southern Catskill Amateur Radio Society) was asked to provide Public Safety & Emergency Communications for a "Rally New York", which is a "European Style Competitive Road Rally". This type of "Rally" can best be described as "Real people, driving real cars, on real roads, REAL FAST!" , these are very well organized events with SAFETY as the first priority.

 The Ham operator response to these events  has been "awesome", with 37 operators participating on the first event and 43 on the second.......THANK YOU ALL!

2005 will bring two Rally events to the Western Sullivan County area
