Hamcom Interfaces
are used to receive and transmit SSTV, CW, RTTY, and several other modes without the use of a soundcard. Very inexpensive to build (about 20 USD) you can put one of these together in about an hour or so and be on the air! All parts are available at Radio Shack or any other Electronics component outlet..
