Gabfest!

We have taken the original guest book off line and archived all the messages here so everyone can still access them.  A new guest book has been set up instead.  The reason for this is that someone was putting sex related links in the guest book, and we didn't have any way of editing the original guest book and couldn't delete them.

We figured this site is for Ham Radio enthusiasts, and if anyone wants to find sex related information, they won't be looking in a guest book for it.  We also don't want any of our guests to be offended by the links.  So now we have a new guest book and it is moderated, which means any offensive material will be deleted before it ever shows up online.  That should put paid to the spammers!

Now, on to the guest messages ... without the unwanted additions!

Welcome to My Guestbook

Hi Dan, VK8AN, I have been on Troughton Island (OC-154), several times, too, with 'Lloyd Aviation' since I worked for BHP Petroleum from 1986 -1990 stationend at Darwin/Berrimah, Pruen Road. 73's Fred

Hello Kev, I don't know if you will remember me but I spent a lovely couple of months with you a long time ago. I sailed from Bunbury upto Monkey Mia with you. We stopped off at the Abrohlis islands for a bit. I'll never forget that time because I dont think I have ever felt so content. It's really great to see that you are still cruising along. I hope that Coby is doing well and I would love to hear from you mate. Still saving up for a yacht to do a round the world trip along with my parrot. If you have an email address, drop me a line. Love from Nick. PS, wondered if you had heard from Hannah Turk Richards?

I lived on Troughton Island with my father Colin Cotter from 1959 - 1961. There were two other families on the Island while I was there, Merv Jones and Ron Miles. Troughton at that time was a Radio Direction Finding Station operated by the CLS. We were serviced by SS Cape Otway twice a year and State ships dropped of mail and fruit and vegies about every 6 weeks. Hope to revisit in the not too distant future. Would like a report on current status of the Island.

Guys Tks for the extreme effort and a new IOTA. My greatest hope is that the Tearaway can be gotten off the island without excessive damage and expense. I discovered the importance of tides searching for Browse Island using various internet search engines.
