5760 MHz Microwave Equipment of
VK3BJM.
Here is a little look at the gear I’m playing around
with for the 6cm Band (5.65-5.85 GHz)…
The transverter is based
around a number of kits produced by Minikits; the transverter itself is based
on a design by Paul Wade, W1GHZ (N1BWT at the time of design - 1997).
Above are the Transverter, Local
Oscillator (running at 561.600, for a 144 MHz I.F.), 2 watt Power Amplifier and
Changeover Relay. The Transverter,
which uses pipe-cap filters, is at bottom left. The L.O. is encapsulated in insulation for some degree of thermal
stability.
On the underside of the case
is the Transverter Sequencer, a homebrew 12/24 volt converter (based on a
simple 555 timer circuit), the reverse polarity protection relay and DC
distribution block.
Still to come are photos of
the feed horn and the off-set dish…
To be continued…
