The Status Apartus series.  It's the first set issued by Aruba, on January 1, 1986.

 

POSTAL RATES: 

The current rate for an airmail letter (10 grams) is as follows:

  •     worldwide             Awg.2,20

  •     local                    Awg.0,90

Note: irc's are accepted at Awg.2,20.

CURRENCY

Each Aruban Florin (Awg.) has 100 cents.  Banknotes come in the following denominations: AFl.500, 100, 50, 25, and 10.  Coins are available in: 5c, 10c, 25c,50c (small square), 100c, 500c (large square).   The Awg.5 square has now been replaced by a round golden coin.

The Aruban Florin is pegged to the US Dollar.  (1US$ = AFL.1,75)

     On Aruba, phonecards have come in different types.  The first cards were magnetical, followed by optical, and lately the technology of choice is the chip-card.
