There are some seals you have to "work" really hard on! On this page you will find some hints to make it a little bit easier.
Every year the Neanderthal Chapter has a convention very close to the place where the bones of the "homo sapiens neanderthalensis" were found in 1856. During each year there will some additional meetings where you can meet members of our chapter:
If you visit us there, you will receive the Meeting Seal. Every year there will be a new one, e.g. 2011 the Meeting Seal 2011 (short MS11). These seals are numbered and collectable.
We have a real "Neanderthaler" there (no, not DJ2YE he lives there today). No, a real OLDTIMER. Bring your camera along and take a picture. This will count for the Photo-Seal.
The Neanderthal Chapter net is held on every sunday 14:00 UTC (summer 16:00 CEST) and 15:00 UTC (winter 16:00 CET) on 28.355 MHz. German members have to check in 50 times, all others 10 times to receive the "CI1-seal". These seals are numbered and collectable. Don't worry, the chapter-head keeps track. If you have the CI1 feel free to to go for the CI2 ...
We started February 1999 with a "Hunter of the Month". Every month the chapter-head will ask a member of the Neanderthal Chapter to be the hunter. It should be a little secret - no one will know it in advanced. When you have a QSO with the Hunter of the Month she/he will tell you. If you had a QSO with the hunter, please let the CM know and you will receive 10 more on-air points. Remember, every month there is a new "Hunter of the Month" out there ...
Watch out! If you are lucky enough you will find a sign with the name "Neandert(h)al" or a picture of one of these old guys. For us local members it is easy to go to the museum and take a picture of ourself in front of a sign, but even in the Australian Outbacks a sign was found really in "the middle of nowhere".
In the future we will post all photos here ...

The seals for our loyal members. Collect points by checking into the weekly Neanderthal Chapter Net for all callsigns (Personal-, Club- and Contest-Calls).
The Neanderthal-Chapter is very proud of all the supporters check-in. We will celebrate this birthday with a special.
Here are the rules:
First of all, there is no time limit. You can start with this special when we finish our 888th net. To make activities our 10m band the following QSO must be made outside (!) of any 10m net and 1 hour before or 1 hour later! When you have finished this special you will receive 88 on-air points. Please make only 10m QSO with ten-ten members.
Yes, it is quite some work to do. To make it a little bit easier, each ten-ten callsign can be used in each of the 8 categories. Have fun and remember you have to make contacts to get results.
You can start with the "1000-SPECIAL" when we finish our 1000th Neanderthal Chapter weekly net. The 1000th Neanderthal Chapter weekly net will be on August 7th 2016.
Collect the first name of any single operator. The first letter of the first name counts that letter's position in the alphabet as points.
First letter | Points | First Letter | Points | First Letter | Points |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
A | 1 | B | 2 | C | 3 |
D | 4 | E | 5 | F | 6 |

Add all collect points until you have more than 1000 points.
The log must be contains the callsign, the 10-10 number, the date, the name and the points. Please send the log to the certificate manager.
When you have finished this special you will receive 100 on-air points.
Have fun and remember you have to make contacts to get results.
