There are some seals you have to "work" really hard on! On this page you will find some hints to make it a little bit easier.

The Meeting Seal

Every year the Neanderthal Chapter has a convention very close to the place where the bones of the "homo sapiens neanderthalensis" were found in 1856. During each year there will some additional meetings where you can meet members of our chapter:

  • Every year in June we attend the biggest amateur-radio meeting in Europe, the HAM-Radio, in Friedrichshafen/Lake Constanz. The 10-10 Neanderthal Chapter has a booth there to promote 10-10 International Net and Paper-Chasing.
  • Every second year the DIG, Diploma Interest Group, or DSW, Diplom-Sammler Waterkant, have a meeting in different German regions and sometimes in neighboring countries.
  • The 10-10 International Net meeting held in the USA.

If you visit us there, you will receive the Meeting Seal. Every year there will be a new one, e.g. 2011 the Meeting Seal 2011 (short MS11). These seals are numbered and collectable.

We have a real "Neanderthaler" there (no, not DJ2YE he lives there today). No, a real OLDTIMER. Bring your camera along and take a picture. This will count for the Photo-Seal.

The Check In Seal

The Neanderthal Chapter net is held on every sunday 14:00 UTC (summer 16:00 CEST) and 15:00 UTC (winter 16:00 CET) on 28.355 MHz. German members have to check in 50 times, all others 10 times to receive the "CI1-seal". These seals are numbered and collectable. Don't worry, the chapter-head keeps track. If you have the CI1 feel free to to go for the CI2 ...

The Hunter of the Month

We started February 1999 with a "Hunter of the Month". Every month the chapter-head will ask a member of the Neanderthal Chapter to be the hunter. It should be a little secret - no one will know it in advanced. When you have a QSO with the Hunter of the Month she/he will tell you. If you had a QSO with the hunter, please let the CM know and you will receive 10 more on-air points. Remember, every month there is a new "Hunter of the Month" out there ...

The Photo Seal

Watch out! If you are lucky enough you will find a sign with the name "Neandert(h)al" or a picture of one of these old guys. For us local members it is easy to go to the museum and take a picture of ourself in front of a sign, but even in the Australian Outbacks a sign was found really in "the middle of nowhere".
In the future we will post all photos here ...

The Triple 7

The Neanderthal-Chapter held on February 19, 2012 its 777th net! As a little "thank you" for all who supports our activity we have a new special:

"The Triple 7"

The rules are very simple:

888 weekly nets, wow !!!

The Neanderthal-Chapter is very proud of all the supporters check-in. We will celebrate this birthday with a special.

Here are the rules:

First of all, there is no time limit. You can start with this special when we finish our 888th net. To make activities our 10m band the following QSO must be made outside (!) of any 10m net and 1 hour before or 1 hour later! When you have finished this special you will receive 88 on-air points. Please make only 10m QSO with ten-ten members.

  • 8 QSO with ten-ten members having an 8 in their ten-ten number
  • 8 QSO with ten-ten members with an 8 in the callsign
  • 8 QSO with ten-ten clubstations
  • 8 QSO with YLs who have a ten-ten number
  • 8 QSO with ten-ten members in any mode except SSB
  • 8 QSO with ten-ten members outside your own DXCC entity
  • 8 QSO with ten-ten members having an "H" (H is the 8th letter in the alphabet) in the name, e.g. " Henry " or " John "
  • Make QSO with ten-ten members and add the single figures of the ten-ten number until you reach exactly 888
    (e.g. my ten-ten-number is 42024 so that is 12)

Yes, it is quite some work to do. To make it a little bit easier, each ten-ten callsign can be used in each of the 8 categories. Have fun and remember you have to make contacts to get results.

1000th Neanderthal Chapter weekly net

You can start with the "1000-SPECIAL" when we finish our 1000th Neanderthal Chapter weekly net. The 1000th Neanderthal Chapter weekly net will be on August 7th 2016.

  • Each ten-ten callsign can be used only once.
  • Collect minimum 1000 points.

How to collect the 1000 points for the "1000-SPECIAL"?
