Man did I ever have a blast in this one. The bands where good and the rate was fairly nice. I like that everyone is at 100 watts or less in the contest. Yes having stacked yagis still is an advantage but not having to go against lots of KW stations sure is sweet. Makes the playing field a little more level. Equipment worked very nice. This was the first real contest effort with the tribander in the air and it worked very nice. It is good to have a real antenna on 15 and 20 meters. This was also the first contest with the Rigblaster pro using FSK in Writelog w/ MMTTY. I liked the way it worked. AFSK is alright but there is somthing about FSK that makes it special. Alot easier to work stations while S&Ping and it made band changes a breeze. No more readjusting the input when I changed bands like I had to do with AFSK.
I played on the Austin Powers #1 RTTY team and we did well. We placed 5th out of about 15 teams. Not to shabby. I placed 10th in the 5 call district behind the likes of AA5AU, AB5K, KI5XP and K5DU to name a few. Here are my comments to the 3830 reflector.
