Introduction

The radio codes used in department communications is primarily used to promote brevity over-the-air, rather than secrecy. There are many listings of codes published over the internet, but the primary purpose is to get you acquainted with the types of communications you're bound to hear when monitoring in the State of Hawaii

Note: 10-15 Officer Needs Help is a standard 10-code used by all law enforcement in the State of Hawaii. Officer Needs Help means that the officer is in immediate personal danger "HELP!", and requires all officers in the area to respond as quickly as possible. While some code lists 10-15 as "Officer in Trouble", the use of 10-15 should not be confused with "Officer Needs Assistance."
