BIARC tour of Hawaii Civil Defense EOC, Sept 10, 2016

September 05 2016

From Bob Schneider, AH6J

Sept 10 meeting

The program at the last meeting of BIARC on Saturday August 13 was one of the most interesting we have had. It was about interference.

We are proud to announce that the next meeting on Saturday September 10th at 2PM will be even better. The program will be a talk and tour of Hawaii County Civil Defense. We just had two near misses of Hurricanes and several strong earthquakes that could have but didn’t produce tsunamis. Also, the EOC has had several major modifications so this is a good chance to see all the upgrades.

Just in case there is an ongoing operation that would prevent us from having the program at CD Headquarters, the alternative is the Aupuni Center Conference room located at 101 Pauahi St., Suite 1 in Hilo, HI 96720.

This invitation is open to all licensed Amateur Radio Operators on the Island of Hawaii and especially to the members of our sister clubs, HWARS, KHRC, SPARC, HARC, PERC and any others such as the Waiakea High School and Hawaii Preparatory Academy school Radio Clubs.

Special thanks go to Ed Teixeira; Bill Hanson, N0CAN; John Bush, KH6DLK; and Les Hittner, K0BAD for making these special arrangements.
