"YEAR in REVIEW" & "STATE of the CLUB"

Report for year-end 1994

(given at January 1995 meeting)

 

Financially the Club is very healthy with funds greater than we had in a long time.

Institute 50/50 raffle for treasury and supplies

Selling awards and maps for $1.00 ($0.50 for costs & $0.50 for club)

Old Equip. Sale: $60.00

Flea Mkt. $50.00

 

Lots of continued operating:

2 VHF contests Frank, WA2TJR

1 UHF contest " "

Field Day Carl, N1ORW & crew

Station & Equipment:

AM station repaired and aligned by Ted, W1ZQT

HF SSB rig repaired - Yaesu FT-101EE purchased from the estate of Andy Barrett, WA1CUT

Long Wire repaired

VHF and UHF ants installed

 

Club House:

VHF/UHF desk donated by Frank, WA2TJR

Rotor repaired by Bob, N1KPR

All cables rerouted for neatness and safety - Steve, N1NCU and Bob, N1KPR

3 ground (farm) points checked and repaired - Bob Blakley / Bob, N1KPR

AC power defined for high load ops, i.e.; Field Day

Collect, sort and secure all Club documents and ops manuals - Ted, W1ZQT / Bob, N1KPR

All significant awards in frames on East wall - Bob, N1KPR

By-Laws - Art. 8 defined in committee. Discussed at three meetings (May, June, July) five proposals submitted to Carl, N1ORW (Chairman) Majority vote for the more "liberal" proposal. All members notified about vote - still the usual turnout!!!

Official Observer contacted by Bob, N1KPR about pirates and bootleggers - involved ARRL and FCC

Boy Scouts Jamboree in Wilton - Bob, N1KPR and Al, K1TMW all day demo

Branford Hamfest - Brainchild of Frank, WA2TJR - W1ORS has a table to sell our junk

ARES and SKYWARN - Frank, WA2TJR

Computer acquired thanks to TED, W1ZQT . . . 24 Hour clock acquired thanks to Ted, again.

Plus other details forgotten by the author . . . thanks to all helping hands, donations, etc. . . you know who you are. Special thanks to contest operators, paper shufflers, mechanics and wrench jockys - broom pushers, notwithstanding. . . . it was a good year gang.

Field Day 1995 - Carl, N1ORW has great plans for four (4) transmitter operation !!! (4A class)?
