Here is a little look at the gear I’m playing around
with for the 1.25 cm Band (24.0-24.25 GHz)…
Vying for the title of most
boring photo on the site, this is a shot of the (as yet unmodified) Thales
Transverter.
I should have taken the shot
with a ruler for size reference; but you can probably tell from the SMA
connectors, at the bottom, that the case is not large.
Still plenty more to do with this band; I have collected together a 24 GHz dish, a waveguide switch, and a few other odds and sods, but I still need a suitable Local Oscillator. I also need a 1296 MHz transverter, to step between the 24 GHz transverter and the I.F. driver rig. Sadly, I reckon this is all some way off…
