Please put aside Saturday, June 28th and Sunday, June 29th for Field Day.
We will be in the same old place – Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth (in the field south of Portland Head Light) (follow the signs for access). If you're mot sure of the exact location, talk in is on the PAWA repeater (146.73 (-) (100.0 Hz).
We will start setup at 10:00 AM on Saturday and Field Day starts at 2:00 PM. The PAWA Field Day BBQ starts around 3 PM on Saturday. We will be operating one station on 80 through 10 meters.
We will be needing folks to help set up the site (putting up the antennas and getting the operations trailer ready). Of course, we will need operators for the event throughout the 24 hour period and we will need a crew afternoon on Sunday to break things down.
If you're a well established ham, come on down to do some operating! If you're a new ham, come on down and get your feet wet on HF in a fast paced environment!
The BBQ will be the usual fare of hot dogs. A member of the club will provide the hot dogs, buns and condiments. The club will provide the grill and someone to cook. If you want something other than hot dogs, please bring what you want and we will cook it for you. Please bring your own beverages (non alcoholic). We also ask that you bring a side dish (such as potato salad, coleslaw, three bean salad, green salad (and the like) to share. The BBQ is free for PAWA members and $ 5.00 for non-members.
Seats are always in short supply. If you have them, bring along your own lawn or camp chairs to sit on. If the weather is good, the bugs are usually out. Be sure to bring your own bug spray.
By the way, while you're visiting the Field Day site for a hot dog or two, how about going in the operations trailer and make a few Field Day contacts for the PAWA effort! Enjoy the fast paced action of HF operating in a contest. We can sure use the help in operating.
