This picture though not really an accurate description

of how I see but it should give you an idea of how my view looks on a normal day when walking or riding in cars.

My view when looking at things is much better than this because I still have some central vision left. With central vision gone or impaired its extremely difficult to focus on one object or person. Unless I'm standing directly in front  of a person or within 3-5 feet I usually don't recognize them. However, if they speak to me I have learned to recognize people's voices. Just part of the adjustment stage.

When reading text without any type of magnification  this is how I see normal text.

I normally have to have lots of light when reading and doing anything tedious as screwing in a small screw.  I think reading and not being able to drive were the hardest things for me when this first happened. But I'm adjusting quite well now.
