There have been visitors to my site since it began on August 25, 2000.

The Band Module on the MultiPIG has all of the band-specific circuits. The output and input filtering are here, as is the final amplifier and amp driver. There are several circuits that need to be tuned. This was actually the first module that I laid out according to the Lessons. I really liked the way the pictures of the completed one looked, so I thought, "Why not." :-) It actually took a little longer, I think, because I had to see where things fit and which connections went where. The final result looks nice though, so I think it was worth it. Also, builders who are farther behind should be able to see what to do from two sets of pictures, instead of just those in the lessons.

Lesson 23
Lesson 23 involved building the output filtering, final amp and driver, and TR (transmit/receive) switching circuits. Before any of this could be built, I also had to make the board by chopping off an ISA connector from a card and screwing it to the piece of PC board. I was kind of intimidated by this procedure, so it was a while before I got around to it. Once I had this done, it went together pretty easily.

Lesson 24
The band module is finished in this lesson. It has more of the receive circuitry, along with the pre-driver for the amp. There were six transformers to wind, so it was interesting. :-) I am fine with inductors, but those transformers with a 2-turn secondary are tough to get to stay in place while winding and then get the enamel off of. It took longer to build this section than the first band module section, partly because of that. It also took some time to get the nice geometrical arrangement of the pre-driver circuit, but it looks nice. There is also room left over for additional goodies. :-) It was good to finish this lesson, because with the completion of this, all main circuits of the MP are done!
