My name is

Lech Slawomir Tomczak, I am originally Polish, but I live permanently in Norway. I am 36 years old.

Amateur Radio

I am a radio amateur, with callsigns LA7MFA (since 1986), SP5LGT (since 1979). My american license KK6HC (since 1990) expired in February 2000, and ZK3MF (since 1999) in October 2000.

I am member of NRRL, LA-DX Group, HSC (High Speed Club, #966) and Lima Alpha Contest Club.

QSL via: Froeyas vei 61, 3472 Boedalen, Norway or via NRRL bureau.

My Amateur Radio Equipment

Today I am usually running low power into Butternut HF9VX placed in my garden. I can not have any yagi antennas due to restricted space and close proximity to my neighbours.

The radio is 15 years old IC751A from ICOM. Still going strong!

A3 Yagi 8 metres above the ground at my mother in law, my contest QTH.

My contest QTH is at my mother in law. I have a 3 element Yagi A3 from Curshcraft there, up 8 meters above the ground mounted on top old, rotten tree. The other antennas are only erected for contests, and include full size vertical for 40 meters and Inverted Vee for 80 meters. I use linear amplifier SB200 from Heathkit, which gives approximately 400 Watts output.

I work 99% CW only!

Next Contest

I hope to participate in CQ WW Contest on CW. See you there!

My QSL card

On the front of my QSL card is a picture from Krakow, Poland, where me and my XYL Mette lived between October 1996 and March 1997. The callsigns I activated there were my own SP5LGT/9 and SN9C (contest station of SP9PKZ).

Photo of St. Maria church in the old town of Krakow, Poland is the front of my color QSL.
