Our project

The owners of the 3-mast-sailing-ship STS “Khersones” decide to around the african continent under sails at the turn of the year 2001 / 2002. Already in 1996 / 1997 the ship was rounding Cape Hoorn under sails. Now a new challange should be the rounding of the Cape of South Africa. Firstly about 500 years ago Vasco da Gamma roundesd South Africa on his way to India. During our cruise we will pass about 30 countries. We also will touch sone harbours in these countries. What a unique possibility for a great dx-pedition and to activate a great number of these countries. So many hams will get new countries in their dxcc-collection. The planed qsl-cards with original ship-stamp will have collecting value, because only a few of qsl-cards which are used by hams show original ship-stamps. But do not forget the outstanding possibility to report actualy about the results of these cruise. Good contacts, friendship and understanding with the people of the visited countries - this is very important for our project.
