CANFI - Cheap Analyzer Noise Figure Indicator
Noise Figure Meter up to 1,5GHz using DVBT SDR RTL820T/RTL2832.
CANFI was developed by DL2ALF, DF9IC, DL8AAU - Website CANFI.
Necessary items:
- SDR RTL2832 with RTL820T tuner or E4000, shielded in metal box.
- MMIC PGA103+ Amplifier or other wideband amplifier. Power supply 5V.
- Step-up power supply 5V/28V or other 28Vdc supply (XL6009 tested ok)
- USB to Serial Interface FT232L, CH340G. I not recommend PL2303. Use RTS or DTR pinout. ( FT232 tested ok)
- Noise Source home made (calibrated) or commercial
- Optional USB HUB, to combine the ports used by SDR RTL and Serial Interface. Hub "Digitus" (FE1.1s chip) working good. Don't use Hub "Manhattan" (GL850G chip).
