The JFK Ultramarathon. is a 50 mile run.  This run is usually scheduled for the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving (November 20, 2010).  The run starts on Alternate Route 40 near the middle of Boonsboro, proceeds up Alternate 40 to the "Old South Mountain Inn" where the course transitions on to the Appalachian Trail heading south. At Weaverton, MD the run comes down from the top of the mountain and continues to follow the "Trail" to the C & O Canal following the Potomac River . The run then proceeds on the Canal Tow Path for 23.7 miles to the Dam #4 area, at which time the run transfers to the roads and proceeds to the Springfield Middle School in Williamsport, MD.

The amateurs provide support for the run from the beginning to the  very end.  This is the first year that we have done handled the whole run.  The new station that we are serving is the one the organizers of the run have requested.

JFK 50 Mile Run - Support Team Directions - this gives the directions to all of the locations for aid stations as well as where the amateurs are stationed.

The JFK is an unusual race and thus is a lot of fun to watch and or work. Come join us in this fun!   Check in on the 146.940 (-) repeater

If you are interested in volunteering to assist with the communications for this event contact KD3JK.

The web site for the JFK can be reached by clicking here.
