3W, VIETNAM. Michal, 3W7TK, has been very busy lately
on 15 meters CW/SSB. Check between 1245 and 1830z on or around
21255 or 21012 kHz. QSL via OK2HWB.
9H, MALTA. NODXA's good friend Holger, DL7IO, informs
OPDX that he is happy to announce their first DXpedition with
the newborn Xenia. Holger and the girls (Birgit/DL7IQ,
Saskia and Xenia), along with Olaf/DJ7TO left for Gozo Island
(EU-023) on Sunday, July 1st, and by the time you read this,
they should be active as 9H3O for the next two weeks (July
15th). Birgit/DL7IQ will use her 9H3TZ. They plan to have two
stations up with legal power, directional antennas for 20-10m
and verticals/dipoles for the lower bands. Activity will be on
160-10 meters, mostly CW. Their main activity will take place
between July 6-9th. They got permission to use the location of
the Gordon Fanal Lighthouse on Gozo (130m over NN, 360 degree
view) during that time and will do so with both stations. QSL
route is of course via DL7VRO. ADDED NOTES: As the editor was
putting the final touches on the bulletin, 9H3O was heard active
on 17/15/12 meters between 1200-1600z. Check around 18080, 21007
and 24900 kHz.
EY, TAJIKISTAN. This is the week that a group of
mountaineers and EY amateurs are planning an expedition to the
Sarez Lake. The group will climb a nameless mountain (5800m) and
name it "Radio Amateurs Peak". The operators will be
Vladimir/EY8HB, Nodir/EY8MM and Faruh/EY8AV. However, Faruh will
stay in the base camp and coordinate all the activities while
Vladimir and Nodir climb the mountain. Once the expedition team
reaches the peak, the two operators will use the special
callsign EY1ARP (Amateur Radio Peak) only for about one or two

HB0, LIECHTENSTEIN. Karesz, HA8EU, will be active from
here now through July 3rd. Activity will be pon 80-10 meters,
primarily on CW with some SSB. QSL via HA2NM, direct or Bureau.
JW, SVALBARD. Remember to look for Tom, LA4LN, as
JW4LN on Spitsbergen from July
6-23rd He is actually working there and can only operate on CW
on 40/30/20/6 meters during his spare time in the evening hours.
During his stay there he will also visit Bear Island.
LT1, ARGENTINA (Live Webcam). The "BadPower
Team" will be active during the IARU Contest with a live
Webcam feed for people around the world to see and hear
themselves being worked by LT1F. The Webcam can be seen at: http://www.badpower.com.ar/
This has been done before, though this would be the first time a
LU station will be airing a contest feed online for the world to
see. The Team is: LU1FAM/Luc, LU1FGE/Fabi, LU1FKR/Kar,
LU3FZW/Ber and LU5FHM/Joe. The station's description is: 10m -
4x4 + 6 element mono-bander
40m - 3 element mono-bander
15m - 5x5 80m - wire vertical
20m - 4x4 160m - inverted "V"
LX, LUXEMBOURG. A Dutch team will be active as LX9SW
from September 15-22nd. They will concentrate on CW and SSB,
160-10 meters, but there will also be active on RTTY and PSK31.
Suggested frequencies are (+/- QRM):
CW - 1820, 3520, 7020, 10120, 14060, 18070, 21020, 24900,
28020
SSB - 1845, 3785, 7080, 14185, 18150, 21280, 24950, 28480
2 meters - 144.325 and 144.020
They will listen up 5 kHz. QSL via PA1KW. QSL is OK by the
bureau or direct with an IRC or greenstamp.
OH, FINLAND (also OH0 and ES). Bernie, W3UR, Editor of
"The Daily DX" is on his way to Finland, the site of
the 2002 World Radio Team Championship (WRTC). His first stop
will be Helsinki, Finland, on July 3rd, where he will be active
for a day or two as W3UR/OH2 from the QTH of Martti Laine,
OH2BH. While there he will tour the "Ring Three", the
main road circulating Helsinki where all 50+ WRTC stations of
next year's event will be located. He will also attend Hietahami
2001 (http://oh8ta.oulu.fi/hietahami ), the SRAL (Finnish
Amateur Radio Society) Summer Camp. This is a hamfest and field
day event with lots of demonstrations of many Amateur Radio
activities. This is the primary reason for Bernie's trip as he
will be the guest speaker at both the DX and Contest forums,
presenting 4W/W3UR and A61AJ. Also, look for W3UR/OH0 to be
active from Brando Island (EU-002), in the Aland Islands (
http://www.aland.fi ) from July 7-10th. Assisting him on the air
will be his hosts OH2RF, OH2BE, OH2BH, OH2JTE and possibly
others. On July 11th, the group will be visiting Enn, ES1AR, and
friends in Tallinn, Estonia. There may be some activity as
W3UR/ES1 for a few hours. A special QSL card will be created for
this WRTC-2002 introduction operation. QSL via W3UR.
OH0, ALAND ISLAND. Team OH0V will be active July
24-31st on atop of Geta Mountain. Activity will be on 160-10
meters, plus 6 and 2 meters with various callsigns. Look for
them on HF, digimodes and 2m meteorscatter (available on 144.139
MHz). The OH0V international team of operators are: DJ2QV,
DK3DM, DK5DQ, OH6LI and OH6QU. QSL to OH6LI via bureau or

OY, FAROE ISLANDS. The "DX Newletter"
reports that Fabian, DL1YFK, will be active July 7-11th; no
callsign mentioned. Activity will be on CW on 40-10 meters. He
will then travel to Iceland afterwards.
T48, CUBA. Fabrizio, IN3ZNR, will be operating from
Cuba with the special callsign T48Z during the IARU HF
Championship. This effort will be together with some Cuban Hams,
like CO8HF and CO8TW. Some hours of operation will be possible

TI, COSTA RICA. William, AK0A, will be going to Costa
Rica for the CQWW RTTY Contest in September and the TARA PSK31
Rumble in October. His callsign will be issued upon his arrival. |
