The All
Time High Scores were updated with the results of the 2004 Virginia
QSO Party.
The 2004
Virginia QSP Party
Certificates were mailed on 25-26 Jul 04.
The 2004 Virginia QSO Party Awards Ceremony was held at
the Old Virginia hams Amateur Radio Club's Manassas Hamfest. I estimate
50 hams attended. Seven plaque awardees received their plaques
in-person, and the remainder were picked up by delegates or mailed.
The log
submissions web page now represents the final data for the 2004
Virginia QSO Party. The claimed scores are the final scores.
The 2004 Virginia QSO
Party Awards Ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM at the Ole Virginia Hams
Amateur Radio Club's Manassas
Hamfest on Sunday, 6 June 2004. Their web site is at http://www.w4ovh.net/ (follow the

The final assignment of Plaque Winners
has been posted.
Log
submissions are posted so that participants can verify that we
received your log and that we have your category and claimed score
correct. Please email any discrepencies so that we may make the
required corrections.
The Sterling Park Amateur Radio Club (SPARC) is pleased
to sponsor
the 2004 Virginia QSO Party. The QSO Party will be held starting
at
1800
UTC on Saturday March 20 through
0200 UTC on Monday March 22.

The major changes in
the rules
from 2002 and 2003 are:
- The number of Independent Cities has changed from
42 to
39.
- There is a 15 minute rule for mobile transmitters.
Changes to the Rules since they were published are:
- A New Plaque "High Virginia
Counties/Independent Cities Contacted - Single Operator" has
been added. Ties will be decided by highest number of QSOs with
Virginia stations.
- A New Plaque "High Single Band" has been added.

- Steve,N9OH, indicated that he will update WriteLog. The update will be
available on the WriteLog web site at http://www.writelog.com/. Steve
longer distribute modules from his website. He is now part of the
official WriteLog
development team and all of his new work is distributed in the Writelog
program updates.
- Andy Arnold WV8AA, has upgraded his VA
QSO Party
Logger for 2004. The beta version is available now for testing. He
expects to release the final software in early March.
- N1MM Software supports the VQP and can be found at http://www.n1mm.com.
