This website is dedicated to all amateurs and short wave listeners who enjoy "Top Band" in particular the activities on 1.933 MHz. Everyone is welcome! Radio1933 is a regular net operating after 21.00 most evenings. Activity varies but on a good night you can hear us putting the world to rights well into the small hours. It is often at its busiest when there are contests on 80 and 40 metres. Operation is VOX or PTT and anything more than one sentence without a break is considered to be along over. In any event, you have to drop carrier regularly to make sure the big signals aren't talking over you. You will get a flavour of modern operating techniques allowing maximum communication to flow across abroad span of technical and non technical subjects. Most of all good fellowship and a good laugh. DX stations are very welcome but the general ethos is to enjoy the conversation and not take the hobby too seriously. We can guarantee that we will never organise the radio1933 DX contest - I think ! Listen in daylight hours and early evening to numerous mobile stations. This is the recognised spot for mobile working so they have priority over a fixed station, however, they will be delighted to have your company on their journey. Instructions of use Turn your dial to 1.933 LSB and if you're like most of the folk on the net and agree with the list below you will enjoy. You're the life of the party... even if it lasts until 8 p.m. |
