Happy to find your 210X page. I have a 20 yr old 210X, almost never used, and now I plan to use it. First I´ll read the manual. I understand that it´s advisable to modify different parts of the rig to improve it. Like the PA, etc. Any information available abt that? Regards, BG

Hello agn. Noticed that you are expanding to TS-930 also. I have two of them so I'm most interested. My Atlas 210x is running well. Lead the sidetone from my keyer to rig's loudspeaker so now I have sidetone without the console. Also made a mic amp because my Shure 404 happened to be a low-imp version (C) when Atlas wants a high-imp mic (B) to work well. Power supply is a 7-amphour gell-cell (110 volt console still unmodified). Waiting for the summer to get to the cottage with this. 73's de Esa.

Nice homepage! I have a license from 1968 with the call PA0MER. I have an ATLAS 210X for 20 years and use it regulary on fielddays and holidays. No Japanese trow away rig !!! Just do some modifications now and that was the reason I looked in internet. Problems to be solved and some already done: PROBLEM Humming of the 200PS powersupply and to low ouput voltage at loads above 10amps. SOLUTION Changed transformer and using schottky rectifiers. PROBLEM FM-ing or slight frequency shift when driving above 10amps. SOLUTION Isolation stage with BF900 between the VFO output and FET switch. It was no voltage stability problem as I assumed first, but a loading problem of the VFO. PROBLEM Not sensitive on high bands. SOLUTION Placed a so called N6RY amplifier with two 2N5109 between the inputfilter and mixer. I did already the modifications as using HP diodes in mixer and terminating the mixer output port wideband with a heavy feedback (2dB gain) P800 powerfet in grounded gate. I shall put some things on paper in future for the modification chapter. I am also a collector of German and Allied WW2 radio and an active member of the Surplus Radio Society. (see hompepage via search program like altavista). Good (ATLAS) luck and 73! Fred, PA0MER

I accidently found your web site devoted to Atlas and Herb. I knew Herb from around 1993 until his death. I worked him for a short while in 1994 running two repair benches when he was trying a comeback with the Atlas 400X. Herb was a "ham's ham". He loved amateur radio and I spent lots of time in his garage with him and he spun many stories about his love of amateur radio. I now work part time at RF Parts in San Marcos, Ca. and also repair Atlas gear at my home in Vista. I call my little shop, "Little Giant Repair." Again, thanks for creating this Atlas web page. 73, Rob

Nice site! It's appreciated much. The Atlas was 20 years before it's time the way I see it...... a great tribute to it's designer.

Great pictures - there must be lots of Atlas users out there - we need to get together and support our neat little radios.

Thanks for a very comprehensive documentation. I just got a 210x and its a bit sick, found one dead capacitor on the 200 board and its now working, but needs some more attention. Your website is invaluable to me and no doubt many others around the world. The goal is to restore it in its original state, thanks for the help!! harry zl1bk

Download manual ok Cannot download wiring diagram and get it to display Recently purchased Atlas 210X. Put microphone on and when keyed ptt and switched function to transmitt and cw caused problem . Suspect power supply that came with it. Also could see r517 10ohm 2 watt and r513 180 ohm 1/4 watt did not look to healthy in the power amplifier. Also got meter current with no key or mic of .8 believe and showed about 5 watts into my dummy load when show have shown nothing. Got this when hooking up microphone and speaking into it and turning function switch to transmitt and cw . Appreciate your work on the web site. Respectfully Terry Minsel WB8YRS

Very nice site. I have just bought a beautiful 210X. I hope to find some mods to increase the sensitivity which is as good as those of my TR-7 or TR-4. 73
