ANTENNAS

I've operated lots of homebrew wire antennas. Beyond a design of the antennas, there are many other factors that affect the performance of the antenna. After several years of experimentation, I prefer coax feeded antennas. I do not use ladder lines, antenna tuners and amplifiers at all. Always trying to find and refine a pure solution for a resonant antenna only with a preference to not much wasting time and money or generating noise and mess on the bands. The best amplifier is well made antenna but the success is driven by CONDX. Using low power, usually 25 - 80 Watts. The best tested wire antennas to operate in my QTH are as follows:

TX ANTENNAS
ANT1: DIPOLE 80M, 40M MOUNTED AS INV-V
ANT2: FD3 (40/20/10)
ANT3: FD4 (80/40/20/10)
ANT4: EFHW (80-10)
ANT5: LW MODS
ANT6: ZS6BKW
TX ANT HEIGHTS ABT @8 - 12 M AGL

RX ANTENNA
ANT: LONG LOOP

Using wires of 2 - 2,5 mm2 cross section (such as H07V-K, CYA 2,5), coax feed RG58 or Belden H155.
