burma shave

I started collecting safety razors several years ago, thinking that if I had to shave, I may as well enjoy it. A few years ago the company I worked for was shut down and with my Dr's suggestion I filed for disability. (so far I haven't gotten it put through). Needing blades for my Mach 3, I was in the local store and upon seeing the price of blades, 4 for 20, and figuring that they would wind up in a dumpster somewhere, I decided to start using my old razors. At the time I had acquired quite a few safety razors and 3 straight razors. When I couldn't find the double edge blades (they were there, I just couldn't find them),I decided to learn to shave with a straight razor. That was almost 3 years ago and I haven't looked back. The straight razor gives a much better shave than the new plastic razors, and if taken care of will last a lifetime (and beyond). Over the last few years I have concentrated on collecting straight razors. I have a few that are civil war era razors and they shave just as good as they did when new.
