The above digital photographs represents a method of operating APRS.  As we can see, the APRS-
compatible TNC (PK-12) and an ADI  2-meter FM transceiver.  Everything else is inside of the
cabinet, including a 2 meter band-pass filter to protect the system from powerful adjacent signals.

     It was about 6 years ago (1996) when I made the decision
to experiment in a new mode of operation.  It was to be APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System).  After an initial research, 
I purchased a 2-meter rig ( ADI AR-146 2-meters FM) and the PK-12 TNC).  With a new computer cabinet and motherboard purchased at a local computer show in the Springfield (Mass.) Civic Center, I assembled a computer and then placed both the 2-meter rig and TNC inside the bays.  Look at the digital photographs above.

     Since 1996, approximately, after some trials and errors, I have been operating continuously 24-hours a day 7 days a week.
