Sebring Florida is home to the famous Annual
"Twelve Hours of Sebring" Race, featuring the American Le Mans Series, and other races.

Lake Placid Florida is located just to the south of Sebring, and is home to the "Happiness Tower", where the HARAC - Repeaters are located.

Also, the town is known as the "Caladium Capital of the World". These are very colorful plants that originated from the rain forests, and have several varieties.

Did you know that the first commercial oil well in Florida was drilled in 1943 by the Humble Oil and Refining Company?
They had to drill over 11,500 feet deep!
It was called the "Sunniland Oil Field", and consisted of 17 wells. They were the states only commercial oil fields until 1964. This monumental rig is located in "Oil Well Park" on SR29, south of Immokalee, Florida.
