Sporadic E (Es) is a propagation mode which allows VHF signals (30-300 MHz) to propagate over long distances by reflection from the E layer.
As the name suggests, it is sporadic in nature and difficult to predict.
MCG_MUF (an Amateur Radio DX Cluster Telnet Client) may help here by calculating and displaying the MUF (Maximum Usable Frequency) and the usable frequency (FOT) for the own location as well as the direction to the Es cloud in addition to the usual cluster data, provided the necessary information (locator of both stations) is available . Important: Access to the Amateur Radio DX Cluster with MCG_MUF only works with a valid callsign ! Have fun with MCG_MUF and always good DX (a feedback is very welcome). |
