Chapter 8 of Howard Johnson's, "High-Speed Digital Design A Handbook of
Black Magic", he goes through an example that calculates the power bypassing
necessary when 100 gates switch simultaneously in 5nS, and each driving a
10pF load. The surge current that calulated for this example is
dI=N*C*dV/dt), which looks like it assumes a lumped capacitive situation.
In a situation where the rise time of the drivers make the signal trace look
like a transmission line, would it be valid to change this equation to
dI=N*(dV/Zo)?
