Tower 2

This is the main 15 Meter tower.   It has a stack of 5 over 5 Yagis at 80' over 43'.  The tower is a Glen Martin Engineering 70' Aluminum tower with a pair of Hazers.  Both Hazers are connected to the same cable, so they can be raised and lowered together.  The lower Hazer is fitted with a swinging gate side arm mount, allowing the lower antenna to rotate about 300 degrees.  Atop the tower is a 2 Meter Ringo Ranger.

This photo shows the driven element and feedline of the 40 Meter NVIS (cloud warmer) wire antenna at 25'.  The reflector is below it at 8'.  This antenna is essentially a 2 element beam that points straight up, great for short haul contacts.

The 15 meter beams are on 26' booms and are of my own design. They are similar to OWA antennas, having the reflector, Driven element and first director very close spaced.  This arrangement provides good gain and a broad input impedance, covering the entire band.  The antennas can be fed independantly or in phase through a modified Ameritron RCS-4 remote antenna switch.  I described this switching and feed system in the January 2000 issue of CQ Contest Magazine.
