1kHz to 1500kHz
Minimum frequency depends on IF bandwidth. With an IF bandwidth of 200Hz, minimum frequency is 1kHz; wiith an IF bandwidth of 3kHz, minimum frequency is 10kHz.
The oscillator is analogue with a mechanical "digital" readout.
Tuning is accomplished with a Coarse Tune and a Fine Tune control.
+/- (1% + 300Hz)
Frequency readout in kHz with graduations at 200Hz intervals.
10uV to 100V full scale meter. This gives a sensitivity of 1uV or better.
Sensitivity range is adjusted by two controls:
Maximum input voltage - 0.01V, 0.03V, 0.1V, 0.3V, 1V, 3V, 10V, 30V, 100V
Range (dB) - CAL, 0, -10, -20, -30, -40, -50, -60
By setting the Maximum input voltage to (for example) 0.01V and the Range to -60dB a full scale range of 10uV can be set.
3kHz, 1kHz, 200Hz
nominal 75dB down. In practice the unit suffers from imazge problems for frequencies below 500kHz. These images can be defeated with a low pass filter at the input. An suitable circuit can be found here.

BFO - used in tracking networks, amplifiers etc. In this mode the instrument becomes an RF generator providing a signal at the output that has a frequency equal to that set on the frequency control at 0.5V across at 135 ohms.
Normal - using the 310A as an RF voltmeter
AFC - tracks input frequency
Recorder output 1VDC into 1kohm.
BNC output for audio (in receiver mode) or RF output when in BFO mode. Output is sufficient to drive 600 ohm headphones.
21kg, too heavy to be posted and not easy to lift for any length of time.
422mm wide (fits in a 19 inch rack shelf, or in the rack if you are lucky enough to have the rack-mount bracket), 260mm high, 470mm deep.
