  • We filed for a new callsign during Field Day 2001 and received the club callsign of KD5OXT. Around the first part of October we applied for a vanity callsign for our club and now our club callsign is K5AEC. This callsign will be used during all of our events where a net is activated. This will allow us to use one callsign during a net instead of using the control operators callsign and having it change every time a different person becomes net control.

  • Around the first of October we upgraded our repeater. We now have a larger coverage area and better control capabilities. We regularly have people on the repeater from the Cedar Hill area. We have been able to talk on the repeater all the way into north Fort Worth. I even talked on it one day in Decatur. We have eliminated most of our dead spots around Johnson County, including downtown Cleburne, far west Cleburne, Egan, and Alvarado.

  • As you may or may not know, we now have a new website. I have changed the look of the website as well as registered a domain name for it. If you are still going to the http://taec.cjb.net website please change your bookmarks to http://www.k5aec.org.
